We will always miss our late founder and friend Simon Gray but his memory lives on with our new Employee of the Month Award.
Managing Director Ian Tims had wanted for a long time to start an award to recognise members of the team who had achieved something that made a big difference. When he had the sad job of clearing out Simon’s desk, he found his spare glasses in a drawer which gave him the vision for the trophy.
After putting this together secretly, a Zoom video call was made with Simon’s widow, Tracy, and a couple of staff members. Ian told her what he had created in Simon’s memory – a trophy that would be given to someone who had gone above and beyond, and for outstanding results for the company and its clients.
The presentation of the award in January was a lovely surprise for everyone with the first Employee of the Month winner being Fran Brown.
Ian said: “I’m pleased to announce Fran Brown has won the award. Fran, our head of marketing, delivered exceptional results last year, working with customers and funders to deliver two amazing industry awards. We are very proud. Thank you Fran, just brilliant, five-star!”
Staff will nominate who they believe should win, and why, and this will be announced at the beginning of every month from now on.
Fran said: “Ian presented it to me as the first recipient and that was such a wonderful surprise!
“We’ll never forget Simon and now, with this trophy in his memory, he will always be watching us and seeing what we’re up to.”
This staff award is a perfect tribute to Simon who passed away in September.
