The Credo team is passionate about customer care and fully understanding their needs to provide the right-fit finance package.
Our knowledge and personal touch have been recognised in a number of prestigious national awards but we are so committed to putting the customer first, and confident we can fulfil your finance needs with responsible lending, that we will even put our money where our mouth is.
This is a very special service that many other finance institutions do not offer – in-house lending. If the criteria are right, and it is the best option, we can lend you money from our own business funds through Credo Capital Finance.
Quick decision-making is arguably the most important ability for a business today and our in-house lending can facilitate that.
John Rowe, Credo’s group underwriter, oversees our in-house lending to ensure it is financially secure and complies with regulations.
“In-house lending is an extra string to our bow – it is our USP [unique selling point],” he said.
It’s here that Credo’s personal approach comes to the fore, talking to each customer to understand their needs and why finance has perhaps been refused elsewhere.
“We can then take a more holistic view, using local knowledge to make an informed decision which is proving very successful. In-house lending was a unique thing, and still is, and is a fast-growing area of our business.”
It means we can finance more unusual assets that are often turned down by national lenders, such as classic cars, and bespoke equipment for specialist industries and businesses. It is also particularly relevant for the leisure and hospitality sectors which are a key part of the local economy.
Now our in-house lending facility has grown to encompass the quality end of the market and is an additional source of funds, alongside our panel of 20 lenders, at competitive rates.
“We already have a fantastic panel of 20 lenders we can use to ensure we structure the best finance deal. Our own funds means we help even more people and, because it is in-house, we can make decisions quickly.
“Some lenders have an automated decision-making system where it is ‘yes’ or ‘no’. We can explore, and get additional information from the prospective customer, to get the deal over the line. And invariably we do.
“It is another example of Credo’s personal touch and customer care, giving people the chance to tell their story. Everyone has got a story and we are here to listen to them.”
“Most of our own-book lending is local so we have a good knowledge of what is involved. Locally, we know the market, we know what sectors are strong sectors and where business opportunities lie,” John added.
