In the last 7 days Credo staff have been busy out of hours raising money for two different charities that both do wonderful work within our community.
Firstly, on Thursday 6th November 12 staff members took part in the ‘On the Buzzer, City’ quiz night at Carrow Road, helping to raise over £5,800 for the Norwich City’s Community Sports Foundation #buildthenest campaign. Both teams didn’t disappoint on the night and another successful way of raising money for this wonderful project.
Then last night, Thursday 15th November, Victoria and Ella from the office took part in the ‘Sleepout 2018‘ at Carrow Road organised by The Benjamin Foundation. This amazing charity states “We want to end youth homelessness and we are tackling the problem locally by providing a home and support to over 100 vulnerable young adults each night. We give the young people stability and support their education, training and careers and ensure they have life skills such as shopping, cooking and being able to budget their money so they can leave us to forge an independent life.” By taking part in the Sleepout last night, Tori and Ella recognise that ‘Sleep Out’ is not the same as the real hardship faced by rough sleepers but it does give those participating the opportunity to see for themselves what it might feel like to be homeless.
Ella remarked “It was very humbling seeing and hearing about the work of The Benjamin Foundation. We were only sleeping out for one night yet too many people have no choice. A fantastic charity doing incredible work!”
Victoria also added “Very proud of the 150 people who took part in the Norwich Sleep Out last night. We all too often take the luxuries in life for granted and it’s only when we step out of our comfort zone to help those around us do we realise how lucky we are. Thank you to all those who sponsored Ella and I it truly is a great cause, the team at The Benjamin Foundation ensure every penny is used to get people off the streets and supported through to independent living.”

On Thursday 6th September 40 guests of Credo Asset Finance arrived at Eaton Golf Club to play golf and raise money for the Community Sports Foundation #buildthenest campaign.
The day started off well with a beautiful blue sky awaiting them, so after bacon rolls and coffee, everyone tee’d off in style for a Texas Scramble competition. A wonderful ploughman’s lunch awaited them on their return, along with lots of chat and a silent auction.
The afternoon started off well, with the glorious weather keeping everyone in high spirits, with Ex NCFC players Adam Drury and Simon Lapin making a surprise visit. The first 9 holes were played well, but then the weather turned sour and wet golfers came back to the BBQ. However, no one was disgruntled, with lots of amazing scores and a fabulous day made better by more food, drink and prize giving. The winners were Paul Hunter from CSF who won the longest drive at a staggering 340 yards, Alan Peace who won the nearest the pin competition, Simon, Dan, Neil and Shaun who won the Texas Scramble event, and Richard (3rd) Brett (2nd) and finally Max Mace winning the Stableford competition in the afternoon.
Emma Fletcher from CSF thanked everyone for their kind donations and support towards the campaign, and announced that £2170 was raised. What a tremendous achievement, and the team at Credo are very thankful for everyone’s attendance on the day.
After a really positive meeting today with Emma Fletcher the Fundraising Manager for Norwich City’s Community Sports Foundation, we have now set up our Just Giving Page and set up some exciting events for the next 12 months.
Our first event was Run Norwich on 5th August where Fran here at the office managed to beat the heat with a time of 56 minutes. She raised £150 and has now started the fundraising off, but we want more! Our target is £5,000 for the #buildthenest project which will help so many people in the community have access to excellent sports facilities. Please read more about the project here.

So the Football Championship gets underway this weekend, and Credo are delighted to partner with Jack Reeve from Talk Norwich City again this season. We have supported Jack along his journey and continue to do so, and he has kindly offered his help to raise funds for our chosen charity this year which is the Community Sports Foundation #buildthenest campaign.
