After hearing Luca Feser, Cutu Serruys & Matt Siely’s amazing story at a recent local event, Credo was keen to step up and sponsor these three amazing individuals. Perfectly named Team HODL – ‘Hold On For Dear Life’ three friends, making up the ultimate team are to take on a challenge of a lifetime by attempting to row across the Pacific Ocean in June 2023.
They will row 2,800 miles from the coast of California across the Pacific to Hawaii, raising awareness and donations for the Ocean Cleanup, an amazing charity, tackling the global issue of ocean pollution.
They will row non-stop for 40 days: 2 hours on the oars and 2 hours off. They will sleep in cramped quarters, cross two time zones, consume 850,000 calories, and experience all the weather and waves the Pacific throws at them. They will row by the famous ‘ocean garbage patch’ and will take footage of this environmental issue to continue their goal of raising awareness of the Ocean Clean Up.
Just 80 people in 31 boats have successfully rowed to one of the Hawaiian islands from mainland USA
Each of the crew bring their own individual skills and knowledge ranging from rowing technique, map reading and understanding tidal states.
Jack Cleaver, Business Development Manager at Credo met with Luca recently:
“From physical conditioning to crisis planning, mapping routes around currents and ever-changing weather to communicating with the outside world on the trip, we covered a whole lot in our hour together. We at Credo are proud to be a small part of the journey and can’t wait to follow HODL along the way”!
Good Luck and be safe Matt, Cutu and Luca, we will be watching your journey closely.
