On Tuesday 14th September the heavens opened, but it didn’t dampen the spirits of 80 golfers that took to the Valley Course at Barnham Broom in memory of Credo’s founder Simon Gray.
Simon, who sadly passed away in September 2020 from a short illness loved a game of golf, but mostly loved people coming together to have fun and doing this while raising money for charity was an added bonus!
The day commenced with a light breakfast and a putting competition before setting out on the course for a fun filled day. The rain was very heavy at times, but that just made the golf more interesting, with some rather wet putting greens!!
After a soggy 18 holes, the presentation commenced with an emotional and heart felt speech by Ian Tims MD of Credo Asset Finance remembering Simon and how much he would have enjoyed the day. We were delighted that Simon’s wife Tracy and their two sons Alex and Will joined us to give out the prizes.
We are delighted to announce that the Golf Day raised an amazing £2700 for The Community Sports Foundation, a charity that Simon adored and had raised over £100,000 for over the last few years alone.
Thank you to everyone that attended and contributed to the day, and we are thrilled to announce that this will be a yearly addition to the calendar.
